Watertown Invite

On the bright side, there was no snow Friday night. Instead the rain and cold greeted the Spartans as they looked to take on some tough competition from the southern and eastern part of the state. Madison Memorial competed in the ten team invitational which closely resembles what meets at the end of this season will look like for Championship meets. Many Spartans rose to the occasion despite the difficult weather and has outstanding performances. The girls team finished in 3rd place as a team accumulating 96 points while the boys team finished in 5th place with 51 points. Both squads put out nice performances against tough competition.

The performance of the meet goes to Holly H who set a MEET RECORD and a NEW SCHOOL RECORD in the discus with her heave of 150' 1" winning the event. Other event winners included Delaney E in the girls 1600m run (5:28.6) and Darrion M in the boys high jump (5' 10"). Scoring points with their top 8 finishes include: Julana DW 3rd in the 100m dash (13.1) & 200m dash (27.3), Brittany B 4th in the 100m dash (13.1) & 5th in the pole vault (8'6"), Dani F 6th in the 400m dash (1:06.3), Sydney P 4th in the 800m run (2:34.6), Carly H 8th in the 800m run (2:48.9), Siena C 6th in the 1600m run (5:46.5), Izzy O 4th in the 3200m run (12:13.1), Phibi M 3rd in the 100m hurdles (16.7), Mariah OF 8th in the 300m hurdles (54.0), 2nd in the girls 4x100m relay (52.2), 6th in the girls 4x400m relay (4:42.5), 6th in the girls 4x800m relay (10:52.2), Daine R 8th in the pole vault (7'0"), Sarah H 4th in the triple jump (30' 11"), Natalie S 5th in the triple jump (30' 2"), and Holly H 2nd in the shot put (37' 9.5")for the girls. For the boys: Jason W 6th in the 100m dash (11.7), Jake A 2nd in the 200m dash (23.2), Alex A 8th in the 400m dash (54.9), Zach H 7th in the 800m run (2:11.1), Rory S 5th in the 1600m run (4:46.2), Trevor R 6th in the 3200m run (10:46.1), Hunter P 2nd in the 110m hurdles (15.7) & 2nd in the high jump (5' 8"), 3rd in the boys 4x100m relay (46.0), 5th in the boys 4x200 (1:37.5), 4th in the boys 4x400m relay (3:38.2), 6th in the boys 4x800m relay (9:17.6), Dondreon C 8th in the pole vault (10' 6"), and Jack G 5th in the discus (125' 1").
